  • Anti-poison (early phases)
    Anti-venom+ (4) is standard.
  • Phase progression: Poison → Lightning → Flame → Acid
    Four colour-coded phases. Lure Hydra to the matching vent between phases to disable its special attacks. Skipping the lure means you eat all the specials.
  • Prayer flick alternating attacks
    Hydra rotates Magic → Ranged → Ranged → Magic on auto-attacks. Flick correctly to take 0 damage on the cycle.
  • Slayer task (strongly recommended)
    Hydras are on the Hydra-only slayer task from Konar. Imbued Slayer helmet gives +15% accuracy/damage on task — massive DPS uplift, often the difference between viable and not.
  • Food
    Sharks/Manta + Sara brew for the lightning phase chip damage.
  • Venom protection
    Bring an Anti-venom+ (4), or wear a charged Serpentine/Tanzanite/Magma helm to free your inventory slot.
